Water-based chemistry used directly in clothing or DTG printers requires a unique curing process. Since the inks directly used for clothing or DTG are water-based inks, they are most suitable for printing on organic fibers such as cotton, bamboo, hemp and linen. In addition, clothing is usually pre-treated before printing.
The pretreatment is heat pressed into the T-shirt so that the fibers of the shirt remain straight and allow a clear print position. This is especially important when using white ink on dark clothing. Once the customized T-shirt is properly pre-processed, it is then placed on a platform system designed to hold the shirt in place. Then the shirt is digitally printed.
